Available from: https://jurnal.ipb.ac.id/index.php/jtep/article/view/%20Abstract%20%20%20The%20research%20aimed%20to%20design%20a%20package%20made%20of%20corrugated%20board%20for%20mangosteen%20packaging%3B%20test%20the%20compression%20strength%20of%20the%20packaging%3B%20analyze%20the%20effect%20of%20packaging%20capacity%20and%20fruit%20packing%20pattern%20in%20the%20container%20on%20some%20quality%20parameters%20after%20transport%2C%20and%20analyze%20the%20economy%20of%20the%20packaging%20used.The%20research%20was%20conducted%20in%20three%20stages%2C%20namely%3A%20the%20measurement%20of%20physical%20and%20mechanical%20properties%20of%20fruit%20%28Stage%20I%29%3B%20the%20packaging%20design%20i.e.%20determining%20the%20packaging%20dimension%20%28Stage%20II%29%3B%20and%20packaging%20design%20testing%20%28Stage%20III%29.%20Compression%20and%20vibration%20testing%20were%20conducted.%20For%20the%20vibration%20testing%2C%20transport%20simulations%20were%20conducted%20using%20the%20vibration%20simulator%20of%203.50%20Hz%20and%20amplitude%20of%204.61%20cm%20for%203%20hours.%20The%20packaging%20was%20designed%20with%20a%20capacity%20of%208%20kg%20and%2015%20kg%20using%20two%20packing%20pattern%2C%20namely%20the%20fcc%20and%20Jumble.%20Based%20on%20the%20physical%20and%20mechanical%20properties%2C%20optimal%20packing%20pattern%20of%208%20kg%20container%20was%208%2C%204%2C%20and%204%20pieces%20of%20fruit%20for%20the%20long%20x%2C%20y%2C%20and%20z%20direction%2C%20respectively%2C%20with%20the%20density%20of%2062%25.%20Therefore%2C%20gave%20packaging%20dimension%20of%2039.4%20x%2021%20x%2021%20cm.%20For%20the%2015%20kg%20container%2C%20the%20optimal%20packing%20pattern%20was%208%2C%206%20and%205%20pieces%20of%20fruit%20for%20the%20x%2C%20y%2C%20and%20z%20direction%2C%20respectively%2C%20with%20the%20packing%20density%20of%2065.6%25.%20Thus%2C%20gave%20dimension%20of%2039.4%20x%2030%20x%2025%20cm.%20Based%20on%20overall%20test%20results%2C%20it%20can%20be%20stated%20that%20the%20design%20packaging%20capacity%20of%208%20kg%20with%20dimension%20of%2039.4%20cm%20x%2021%20cm%20x%2021%20cm%20and%20the%20fcc%20packing%20pattern%20gave%20the%20optimal%20setting%20for%20mangosteen%20transportation.%20%20%20Keywords%3A%20packaging%20design%2C%20fcc%2C%20jumble%2C%20transportation%2C%20mangosteen%20Diterima%3A%2018%20September%202009%3B%20Disetujui%3A%2025%20Februari%202010%20%20
