Accessed July 1, 2024. https://jurnal.ipb.ac.id/index.php/jtep/article/view/%20Abstract%20Lampung%20Province%20is%20the%20largest%20producer%20of%20cassava%20in%20Indonesia.%20Cassava%20has%20a%20weakness%20that%20is%20easily%20damaged%20and%20could%20not%20be%20stored%20longer.%20To%20overcome%20this%2C%20there%20is%20a%20need%20of%20an%20effective%20drying%20process%20so%20that%20cassava%20can%20be%20processed%20into%20other%20materials%20of%20lower%20power%20use%20as%20well%20as%20its%20economic%20value.%20A%20hybrid%20drying%20system%20is%20one%20solution%20to%20resolve%20the%20issue.%20The%20purpose%20of%20this%20research%20is%20to%20study%20the%20performance%20of%20drying%20cassava%20chips%20by%20using%20a%20hybrid%20type%20of%20dryer%20rack.%20The%20process%20of%20drying%20cassava%20chips%20made%20using%20a%20three-stage%20treatments%20with%20three%20replicates%20with%20the%20input%20load%20of%2030%20kg%20of%20cassava%20chips.%20The%20results%20showed%20that%20the%20pattern%20of%20decline%20in%20water%20levels%20in%20each%20treatment%20is%20uneven.%20The%20time%20needed%20to%20dry%20cassava%20chips%20to%20reach%20the%20water%20content%20of%2010%25%20-%2012%25%20in%20the%20drying%20of%20materials%20using%20sunlight%20for%2018%20hours%2C%20using%20electrical%20energy%20for%2016%20hours%20and%20use%20the%20energy%20of%20sunlight%20and%20electricity%20for%2012%20hours.%20The%20higher%20temperatures%20produced%20the%20shorter%20the%20time%20required%20in%20the%20drying%20process.%20Electrical%20energy%20required%20for%20the%20drying%20process%20using%20electric%20energy%20was%2091%20440%20kJ%20and%20drying%20using%20electrical%20energy%20and%20sunlight%20was%2068600%20kJ.%20Keywords%3A%20cassava%20chip%2C%20drying%2C%20dryer%20hybrid%20%20%20Diterima%3A%2013%20Maret%202010%3B%20Disetujui%3A%2017%20Setember%202010%20%20%20.
