Alongside tea and spices (HS code 09), coffee accounted for 41.5 percent of Indonesia's total agricultural exports between 2016 and 2020. South Sumatra, Lampung, Aceh, and East Java serve as the primary coffee production regions in the country. However, this burgeoning industry has led to adverse effects on land conversion, particularly in Lampung province, where 60 percent of the forest area in Bukit Barisan Selatan National Park (TNBBS) has been converted for agricultural purposes, with 73 percent being utilized for Robusta coffee fields. Despite the promising outlook, the Covid-19 pandemic introduced new challenges to the coffee farming sector. This study aims to analyze and compare the income levels and vulnerability of coffee farming families inside and outside the TNBBS area during the pandemic. Primary data were collected through direct interviews, utilizing a non-probability sampling quota sampling method. The analysis includes farm income assessment with evaluation of poverty levels among farmer households and livelihood vulnerability index. Results indicate that coffee farmers outside the TNBBS area experience higher income and profits compared to their counterparts within TNBBS. Additionally, the poverty rate is higher for farmers within the TNBBS area. Vulnerability analysis reveals a medium-scale vulnerability level for farming families in both regions, emphasizing the necessity for targeted support to enhance their resilience.
Abu Hasan As-Sadili, Yusman Syaukat, Faroby Falatehan Copyright (c) 2023 Jurnal Agribisnis Indonesia (Journal of Indonesian Agribusiness) https://creativecommons.org/licenses/by/4.0 https://jurnal.ipb.ac.id/index.php/jagbi/article/view/42545 Fri, 22 Dec 2023 00:00:00 +0700 Pengaruh Pelatihan Pertanian Organik The Learning Farm Indonesia terhadap Kompetensi Bertani Generasi Z https://jurnal.ipb.ac.id/index.php/jagbi/article/view/46028
The research was aimed to determine the characteristics of the participants in The Learning Farm Indonesia training and analyze the effect of organic farming training by The Learning Farm Indonesia on Generation Z farming competence. Human resources that consist of individual external and internal factors are the driving force and synergist of other resources to achieve the objectives of counseling. The research aims to formulate the success of counseling through the characteristics of frmers and extension workers with a quantitative descriptive method using the Speech Communication Model theory. Primary data was obtained using interviews and structured questionnaires for 65 extension workers and farmers using proportionate stratified random sampling in 9 sub-districts, Kubu Raya Regency, West Kalimantan, while the entire extension population was taken, then analyzed using SEM-PLS. The results showed that the characteristics of extension agents had a positive effect in terms of demography, competence, and service input, as well as farmer’s characteristics in terms of demography, characteristics, and communication affordability which had a high effect on the success of extension. Characteristics of farmers and extension workers have a positive correlation with extension activities, which means that the higher ability, competence, skills, and motivation of farmers and extension workers, the success of extension can increase to achieve the goals of extension, realize an increase in the lives and welfare of farmers. West Sumatra Province is one of the regions that have the largest organic rice land in Indonesia. The development of Organic Agriculture has become a policy of the West Sumatra Provincial Government since 2006. There are several problems in marketing organic rice, namely the lack of market access by farmers so that only a small portion of the harvest of organic rice farmers is absorbed as the final product of organic rice and the product is sold at the price of conventional rice. The purpose of this research was to determine and analyze the marketing efficiency and marketing operations (margin, farmer's share, and profit ratio) of organic rice in West Sumatra. The research location is decided by purposive method. To find farmer respondents using purposive sampling and trader respondents using snowball sampling. Qualitative descriptive analysis is used to analyze organic rice marketing channels. Meanwhile, quantitative descriptive is used to measure the marketing efficiency of organic rice using marketing margin analysis, and farmer's share. The results showed that organic rice marketing in West Sumatra consists of 4 marketing channels, which involve five marketing institutions, namely intermediary traders, large traders, city farmers, small-scale retailers, and large-scale retailers (supermarkets). Farmers - intermediary traders - wholesalers - small-scale retailers (channel 2) is the channel pattern chosen by most farmers which are 50%. The most efficient channel pattern is channel 4 because it is the shortest channel with the lowest margin of Rp. 5,500 and the highest farmer's share value of 50%.
Julia Mardalisa, Andriyono Kilat Adhi, Heny Kuswanti Suwarsinah Copyright (c) 2023 Jurnal Agribisnis Indonesia (Journal of Indonesian Agribusiness) https://creativecommons.org/licenses/by/4.0 https://jurnal.ipb.ac.id/index.php/jagbi/article/view/45216 Fri, 22 Dec 2023 00:00:00 +0700 Komoditas Unggulan dan Daya Saing Sektor Pertanian Kabupaten Tanah Datar https://jurnal.ipb.ac.id/index.php/jagbi/article/view/43039
The agricultural sector has an important role in economic development. This study aims to analyze the performance of Indonesia's frozen shrimp trade in destination markets and the impact of NTM policies and other factors on Indonesian shrimp exports in destination markets. This research uses panel data model regression. The results showed there was still rejection of fishery products including frozen shrimp from Indonesia in importing countries due to excess chemical content. But the number of rejections is less than one percent compared to the total received. This is in line with the panel data regression results for the SPS variable which is not significant and the TBT variable which has a significant and positive effect. The non-significant results indicate that exporters in Indonesia can adjust the policies imposed by the importing country relating to product certification criteria, sampling procedures, packaging requirements, distribution requirements, and labeling requirements. This study aims to determine the differences in closed house cage systems (semi-automatic and automatic) owned by Ayam Dekem Tengah Sawah Farm through financial analysis. The method used is descriptive quantitative. The study was conducted for one period of rearing broiler chickens without special treatment for livestock. The results of this study indicate that the financial analysis of the results of raising broiler chickens using an automatic closed house cage system is superior to the results of raising broiler chickens using a semi-automatic closed house cage system.
Yasinta Fikrianti, Bambang Priyanto, Fitria Nur Aini Copyright (c) 2023 Jurnal Agribisnis Indonesia (Journal of Indonesian Agribusiness) https://creativecommons.org/licenses/by/4.0 https://jurnal.ipb.ac.id/index.php/jagbi/article/view/48154 Fri, 22 Dec 2023 00:00:00 +0700
